Solution Engineer

The Solution Engineer will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing, and will be responsible for providing technical expertise to ensure Snowflake customers achieve success. This role requires a broad range of skills and experience, encompassing data architecture, ETL/ELT, data science, security, performance analysis, and analytics. You will possess the insight to connect a customer’s specific business challenges with Snowflake’s solutions, the customer-facing skills to effectively communicate that connection and vision to diverse technical and executive audiences, and the technical proficiency to build compelling demos, execute successful proof-of-concepts, and provide consultative guidance on architecture and implementation.

The ideal Solution Engineer will demonstrate a proactive and results-oriented approach, willing to go the extra mile to contribute to the success of Snowflake and our customers. This entails staying abreast of the ever-evolving technologies in data and analytics to serve as an authoritative resource for both internal teams and clients. You will thrive in a collaborative environment, working effectively with a wide range of individuals, both within and outside the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Present Snowflake technology and vision to executives and technical contributors at prospects and customers

• Work hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate and communicate the value of Snowflake technology throughout the sales cycle, from demo to proof of concept to design and implementation

• Maintain a deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors and how to position Snowflake in relation to them

• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to continuously improve Snowflake’s products and marketing

• Be an advocate and develop mutual trust with the technical audience on the customer side

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience working in customer facing solution engineering (tech pre-sales) role

• Strong competency on modern data stacks, ETL/ELT, data warehouse/lake, data science and data apps

• Outstanding skills presenting to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demos

• Hands-on expertise with SQL and Python

• Excellent fluency in both native Thai and English is required.

STRONGLY DESIRED:

• Data Science knowledge and experience

• University degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience

• Software development experience with Java, Spark and other scripting languages

• Extensive knowledge of and experience with large-scale database technology (e.g. Netezza, Exadata, Teradata, Greenplum, Hadoop etc.) and cloud data platforms

• Experience and track record of success selling data and/or analytics software to enterprise customers; includes proven skills identifying key stakeholders, winning value propositions, and compelling events

• Sound understanding and experience in the Thailand market and technology ecosystem

ADDED BONUS FOR:

• Strong Data Science/AI/ML experience across a variety of platforms

• Familiarity and experience with common BI and data exploration tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, Metabase etc)

• Cloud Provider Experience -  Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. 

• Experience using AWS or Azure native services such as AWS S3, AWS Glue, AWS SageMaker or Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Database Migration Services

• OLAP Data modeling and data architecture experience

• Experience in Cloud security & Thailand risk management framework

• Experience selling enterprise SaaS software
