Why is this role important at Field Nation?
We are seeking a Solution Engineer to join our Professional Services team who thrives on solving operational and technical problems for customers. This role is heavily focused on solutioning, executing, implementing, and optimizing against customer strategies and business needs.
You are the bridge between a customer’s business goals, their technical stack, and the Field Nation labor marketplace. You will design, train, and enable the workflows and solutions that allow customers to adopt their field service delivery model through the Field Nation marketplace.
What you'll get to do:
Design end-to-end work order lifecycles (ticket creation to payment) that prioritize automation, low friction, and high adoption, allowing for long-term scalability.
Convert customer business goals into technical configurations that ensure successful platform implementation and utilization.
Design and build solutions for high-volume scenarios (e.g., rapid project rollouts), ensuring configurations can handle burst volume without failure.
Participate in the execution of customer discovery sessions to identify solutions that align with the customer’s broader business strategy.
Successfully execute on assigned projects including but not limited to implementation, integration, optimizations, project ready roll-outs, etc.
Deliver prescriptive training to client teams, focusing not just on "how-to," but on the "why" behind the workflow to drive long-term adoption.
Teach customers to operationalize the solution by coaching them on 1099 marketplace and platform best practices, talent management, and the behavioral shifts required for success.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Partner with existing customers to audit adoption and implement the tactical workflows used by top performers.
Manage the technical success of pilots and implementation projects, iterating on configurations based on data and feedback before full-scale rollout.
Educate customers on integration capabilities and limitations during their integration journey
Lead the technical solutioning for net new integrations, including discovery, technical design, build, test, and go live support.
Act as the liaison between the customer and Field Nation Technical Delivery teams, ensuring integration specifications align with your designed workflow.
Understand basic root-cause analysis for API errors and webhook failures to assist in rapid resolution during implementation.
Collaborate with Sales, Customer Experience, Program Management, and Engineering to execute simple to complex projects (implementations, integrations, etc.), identify and mitigate risks, and drive consistent outcomes and results.
Confidently present, advocate, and defend technical plans and ideas to internal teams and customers, while remaining open to feedback.
Work under moderate supervision with latitude for independent judgment.
Continuously update training materials and share program trends/insights with the wider team to drive department improvement.
Maintain expert level knowledge of product features and functionality, providing training to client facing teams and feedback to product based on customers’ experience.
