The Director of Technology for Corporate Functions owns the technology strategy, platform roadmap, and delivery for Texas Capital Bank's Human Resources, Legal, Finance, and Compliance functions. This leader is accountable for the platforms these functions run on, including Workday and Coupa, and for making the work inside them faster and simpler. The role carries a strong mandate for automation and for the quality of the employee experience: replacing manual handoffs, paper, spreadsheets, and email-driven approvals with instrumented, self-service workflows that employees and managers can complete without help. This is a working director who stays close to the configuration, the integrations, and the process design.
We are seeking qualified candidates with a passion for innovation that have extraordinary levels of critical thinking, motivation, and initiative and aspire to deliver superior client experiences.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the technology strategy, multi-year roadmap, and supporting business cases for Corporate Functions, in partnership with the leadership of Human Resources, Legal, Finance, and Compliance as business owners.
- Own the platform portfolio supporting these functions, including Workday, Coupa, and the surrounding ecosystem for planning, close and reconciliation, expense, contract lifecycle management, governance and risk management, policy and attestation, and corporate records.
- Lead, grow, and retain the team accountable for these platforms, including platform engineers, configuration analysts, integration developers, and implementation partners, setting the hiring plan, levels, and performance standards.
- Drive an automation agenda across the core corporate processes, including hire to retire, source to pay, record to report, and policy to attestation, targeting reduced cycle time, fewer approval steps, and a measurably higher rate of touchless transactions.
- Own the employee experience of internal technology: a single front door for requests and support, journey-based onboarding and role changes, mobile-friendly self-service, clear knowledge content, and accessible interfaces, measured by adoption, first-contact resolution, and employee satisfaction rather than by ticket volume closed.
- Use process discovery and mining, intelligent document processing, workflow automation, and low-code tooling to eliminate manual effort, and rationalize duplicate point solutions and shadow spreadsheets into supported platforms.
- Apply AI where it measurably improves service or throughput, including assistants for HR and IT service requests, policy and benefits question answering, contract review and abstraction, invoice coding and exception handling, and expense anomaly detection, within the bank's model risk, privacy, and security standards.
- Own the integration architecture and data flows across Corporate Functions, including worker, supplier, cost center, and general ledger master data, the identity lifecycle for joiners, movers, and leavers, and the reporting and analytics layer these functions depend on.
- Own delivery execution and predictability for implementations, upgrades, and enhancements, including SaaS release management for Workday and Coupa, regression testing, feature adoption, and change readiness for the business.
- Partner with Finance on the source to pay and record to report technology agenda, including purchase requisitioning, supplier onboarding, invoice automation, expense, period close, and planning and forecasting.
- Partner with Legal and Compliance on contract lifecycle management, matter and e-billing, e-signature, legal hold and records retention, policy management, regulatory change and issue tracking, attestations, and audit and examination support.
- Ensure Corporate Functions platforms meet control expectations, including SOX ITGC, segregation of duties and role design in Workday and Coupa, access reviews, audit evidence, change management, data privacy for employee and vendor data, and records retention.
- Drive build, buy, and partner decisions, leading vendor selection, negotiation, implementation, and performance management, and own the Corporate Functions technology budget, SaaS license utilization, renewals, and third-party risk.
- Establish the operating metrics for the portfolio, including process cycle time, touchless and straight-through rates, cost per transaction, platform availability, adoption, license utilization, and employee satisfaction with internal services, and use them to prioritize investment and demonstrate return.
- Represent Corporate Functions technology to executive leadership, Internal Audit, and regulators, and mentor engineers and analysts across the organization.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of technology experience, including 5 or more years leading teams that deliver and operate enterprise business platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- Demonstrated ownership of a major HCM or ERP platform in production, with hands-on working knowledge of Workday.
- Experience with a procure to pay or spend management platform such as Coupa, SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement, or equivalent, including supplier onboarding and invoice automation.
- Experience leading at least one full implementation, migration, or significant expansion of an enterprise HR, finance, or procurement platform.
- Proven track record of process automation that delivered measurable results, using workflow and integration platforms, robotic process automation, intelligent document processing, or low-code tooling (for example Power Platform, Workato, MuleSoft, Boomi, UiPath, or equivalent).
- Experience designing and improving employee-facing service experiences, including service portals, case management, knowledge management, and tiered support.
- Strong integration and data experience, including APIs, middleware, master data management across worker, supplier, and financial hierarchies, and reporting for business functions.
- Experience partnering directly with HR, Legal, Finance, and Compliance leadership, translating functional requirements into platform solutions and challenging process design rather than automating it as found.
- Working knowledge of the control environment for corporate systems, including SOX ITGC, segregation of duties, access management, change management, and support of internal and external audits.
- Experience managing SaaS vendors and the SaaS lifecycle, including contract and renewal negotiation, release management, license optimization, and third-party risk.
- Product management orientation for internal platforms, including roadmap ownership, intake and prioritization, and measuring outcomes rather than tracking project milestones.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to influence across organizational levels and present trade-offs to non-technical executives.
- Experience in financial services or another regulated industry preferred.

- Process mining or task mining (Celonis, Power Automate Process Mining, or equivalent) used to build an automation pipeline.
- Governed rollout of employee-facing AI assistants, including Microsoft 365 Copilot, with attention to permissions, data boundaries, and AI use in employment decisions.

- Experience in working in an AI-native product model.
