The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $82,875 to $121,550 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:What you will do in this role:Review customer and sales requirements; collaborate with key partners to develop executable system concepts.
Lead team members to build 3D models and proposal drawings, driving the design to concept freeze.
Generate material lists and clear scope‑of‑work summaries.
Issue quote requests and validate vendor proposals.
Identify and apply standard subsystems and modules.
Identify and assess project risks to mitigate financial, technical, and schedule risk
Set priorities and develop strong cross‑departmental collaboration.
Lead technical and pricing reviews for assigned projects.
Own all engineering activities and deliverables throughout the project quotation phase.
Apply value‑engineering principles to improve system performance or reduce cost when required.
Ensure smooth project turnover to execution teams, providing scope clarification as needed.
Provide accountability for all technical, cost, and contractual aspects of assigned projects; serve as a key liaison for internal teams and vendors.
Produce and maintain appropriate documentation for estimating deliverables
Fully interpret, evaluate and respond to customer RFPs and specifications.
Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and align with SDNA processes.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in material handling, automation, or complex system engineering.
Background in one or more of the following: Construction Estimating, Project Management, Mechatronics, Systems, Controls, Application, or Industrial Engineering.
Strong leadership of cross‑disciplinary teams with excellent communication skills.
Solid understanding of mechanical systems, controls architecture, and operational workflows.
Proven problem‑solving ability with a focus on risk, cost, and value optimization.
Conveyor and sortation systems (case, pallet, linear/crossbelt) experience.
Bulk handling, ASRS/unit load systems, monorail, and structural systems.
PLC controls, WMS/WCS software, simulation, and modeling tools.
Up to 10% travel. Additional travel may be required during the first 6–12 months for training.
