The Dematic Solution Development Costing Engineer will support the Solution Development North America estimating team with costing audits, analysis, bridging, and comparisons to ensure successful cost outputs are delivered to the business and end customer. We seek an innovative, analytical candidate well-versed in the global supply chain landscape and value engineering principals. This role involves collaborating with multiple teams to develop highly accurate cost models and value engineering opportunities. This role will also provide comprehensive executive summaries to the Americas Leadership team for all “critical” projects requiring leadership approval. This is a critical position within Solution Development that will lead the growth and maturation of this new, hybrid role for the function.
The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $100,000 - $135,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:
What You Will DO:
· Utilize value engineering methodologies and appropriate software tools to prepare should-cost targets and value optimization opportunities
· Ensure all custom adjustments are accounted for in project estimates prior to final cost review and approval
· Ensure all quote directives are applied to the project cost prior to final cost review and approval
· Audit project cost scenarios to ensure the outputs from the tool are correct and aligned with standards
· Complete a cost bridging analysis between the ROM and Firm estimates to identify anomalies and pursue corrective action
· Audit the risk register cost calculations to ensure correct application. This includes FX, Commodity, Resale, and General risk buckets
· Identify ways to automate manual aspects of estimating/costing process to generate better efficiency with costing
· Support the project comparison process to identify and apply relevant lessons learned, project overruns, and change orders from past, similar projects
· Responsible for generating cost breakouts and highlighting outliers. Understand unique customer requirements to accommodate the various business needs each customer has.
· Support proposal contenting with cost related information and breakouts
· Partner with project controlling on unique project costing requirements to align on delivery standards
· Continually monitor business performance, identify variances, and provide management with valuable insights into trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
· Generate executive summaries for all projects >$10M
· Act as the finance partner for the executive leadership team creating standard communication and project roll ups for executive presentations
What We Look For:
· Preferred degree in Finance or Engineering
· Experience with cost analytics & variance analysis (>5-years)
· Experience with project concepting & estimating in supply chain logistics is preferred
· Previous experience working within a project environment is beneficial for this position.
· Microsoft Suite experience - Strong skill set with Excel is required
· SAP Experience is preferred
· Power Automate and Power BI experience is a plus
