CACI is currently looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Team supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client located in Northern Virginia!
Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals supporting the best practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a member of the BEAGLE ASF Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation’s safety, security, and prosperity. CBP agents and officers are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity.
ASF programs thrive in a culture of innovation and are constantly seeking individuals who can bring creative ideas to solve complex problems, both technical and procedural at the team and portfolio levels. The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse and geographically separated team is crucial.
You should have worked with or have a strong interest in agile software development practices and delivering deployable software in short sprints.
What you’ll get to do:
- Lead the solution development process by collaborating with business stakeholders and product engineering teams to define, design and develop technical solutions
- Own the overall technical vision for a particular solution addressing specific business problem and oversee its implementation and adoption
- Contribute to definition of long-term program-level technology vision, strategy, architecture and solutions
- Shape the evolution of program level architecture by introducing modern tools, technologies, and practices
- Author paybooks and standards related to architecture, development, infrastructure management, operations, and data management
- Performs Architecture design reviews and assessments as required, ensuring initiatives are aligned with future state
- Identify risks, opportunities, compliance issues or other architectural concerns and propose mitigation strategies and solutions
- Participate in architecture guilds and architecture meetups by evangelizing specific technological solutions or demonstrating innovative tools and technologies
- Keep up to date with industry trends and developments
You are good at:
- Agile software development practices
- Backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, Spring framework, JPA, Maven
- Data related technologies and tools including PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, DMS, RedShift
- Domain Driven Design, microservices based architecture, design patterns and other modern architectural and design practices
- Systems development, systems integration, application design
- Technical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
- Deploying to a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) environment such as AWS or Google Cloud
- Communication, collaboration, motivation, and interpersonal skills
Nice To Have:
- Architecting scalable end-to-end systems using technologies such as pub / sub and Computer Vision model execution
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria include but are not limited to:
- 3 year check for felony convictions
- 1 year check for illegal drug use
- 1 year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related technical discipline.
- 10+ years’ experience related to the role.
- Professional experience operating within cross-functional teams and groups.
- Five to Seven years’ experience in incremental software development projects such as the Agile Scrum approach

The proposed salary range for this position is:
$104,200-$229,200
