To help our customers we are building a digital insurance platform that we call Waypoint. Waypoint involves more than 150 people and 12 cross functional teams in the Nordics and Latvia. To achieve our goals, we need skilled colleagues, and we are now looking for an experienced solution architect to join and strengthen our architecture team.

About the team:

The unit is called Waypoint Architecture and is a part of IT Architecture, the centralized architecture organization in If with a Nordic responsibility. We are adding capacity to a team currently consisting of 13 skilled solution architects and technical architects across the Nordics. Our team is responsible for the architecture in Waypoint across the following domains - Product, Customer, Policy, Invoicing & Accounting and Online Sales. 

About the role:

In our team, you will, together with other architects, work as a bridge between business and architecture/technology, translating business needs into fit for purpose solution designs that aligns with the overall target architecture and maintains a rational application landscape for our digital insurance platform.

You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions. Your ability to understand and integrate business processes into their designs ensures that the solutions are not only technically sound but also aligned with the organization’s goals and operational realities. Over time, we also want you to become one of the architects that knows the business, their processes, and products the best.

You will have a primary focus on one core system where you will be collaborating on solution design for larger business initiatives. You will be working with other architects and business on design for incoming needs while ensuring long term sustainability by maintaining the bigger picture. You also strongly contribute to proactive life-cycle management of the application portfolio connected to the core system. 

You develop deep understanding of the capabilities that the core system provides, and how it contributes to the totality. You proactively look for improvements in how the core system relates to other digital capabilities.
You also contribute to the overall target architecture, and act as an ambassador for the overarching architecture targets, principles, and standards for the core system.

Main responsibilities:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
• Design and implement solutions that meet business needs.
• Develop short-term and long-term strategies for core system.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance our infrastructure.
• Create detailed documentation of architectural designs, architectural decisions, and solutions.

Who are you?

You have a proven experience as a Solution Architect or similar role. You have a knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends. Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as excellent problem-solving skills, analytical skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are essentials for this role. You are also positive towards change and a driver in a continuous improvement and learning.

You also have:

• Higher level education within IT 
• Fluency in English, written and spoken.
