We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect, Mobile Apps to provide technical leadership across our mobile engineering organization. You will work with globally distributed teams spanning the United States, United Kingdom, India, and Spain, including both full-time employees and specialist partners.
Responsibilities
Define mobile architecture strategy and technical standards across a multi-app, multi-brand portfolio
Design shared SDK and component architecture that enables code reuse while preserving brand-specific experiences
Lead architectural design reviews and provide technical direction on complex mobile engineering challenges
Establish and enforce coding standards, architectural patterns, and engineering best practices
Review code and mentor engineers across Flutter, iOS, and Android development
Partner with product, design, and backend teams to architect scalable solutions for subscription, authentication, content delivery, and user engagement features
Collaborate with platform engineering teams to design mobile-optimized APIs and integration patterns
Evaluate emerging mobile technologies and frameworks, providing recommendations on when to adopt or pivot
Drive quality and performance standards across the app portfolio
Document architectural decisions and build technical knowledge within the organization
Work effectively across time zones with distributed engineering teams and external partners
Desired Skills & Qualifications
7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 5+ years focused on mobile application development and production apps at scale
Strong expertise in cross-platform frameworks (Flutter preferred) and native mobile development (iOS with Swift and/or Android with Kotlin)
Proven experience architecting shared infrastructure, SDKs, or component libraries for multi-app environments
Deep understanding of mobile architecture patterns, state management, and performance optimization
Experience integrating authentication systems, RESTful and GraphQL APIs, and backend services
Track record of technical leadership through code review, mentorship, and establishing engineering standards
Experience working with distributed engineering teams across multiple geographies
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, app store deployment, and mobile DevOps practices
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex technical trade-offs
Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
Understanding of media, publishing, or subscription-based business models a plus
Experience with consultant or partner engineering teams valued
Salary Range: $175,000-205,000
