The Position
Solution Architect - Data Streaming
The Data Streaming Platform Architect is responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision across the Data Streaming Platform in accordance with the overall Informatics technology strategy and principles to help ensure it is fit for its intended purpose. You ensure that the system is designed to run as expected, has built-in observability, balances emergent design and takes a system view across the full value stream.
The Data Streaming Platform is an ecosystem of components capable of processing in real time a very large continuous flow of data and events generated by a wide array of data sources both in cloud and on-prem environments.
Your team:
You will work with product managers, product line leads and the business stakeholders to enable and guide the design and development of an integrated view of the business processes and associated business landscape for the purpose of identifying current and future opportunities for synergy, integration and knowledge sharing. You will align with the enterprise architects and other solution architects to realize the vision of the domain and promote platform thinking, reusability and interoperability. You are also responsible to work with the Agile Release Train (ART) to ensure delivery. You will provide the business a window to key innovative technology trends and evolution of technology within the vertical industry, which has the potential to accelerate the fulfillment of the business strategic vision. Through use of dashboards and governance boards, you continuously communicate to the business an overview of the progress of current IT innovation(s).
Your key responsibilities:

Providing strategic consultation to assigned line-of-business (LOB) customers in defining or designing business processes, functions and organizational structures, as well as using customer requirements in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies.

Assessing current state of solutions, defining future state needs, identifying gaps and recommending new technology solutions and strategic business execution improvements

Assisting business process engineering/re-engineering
-
Facilitating stakeholder sessions with personnel across all disciplines in the company to identify and define requirements, assess business processes and evaluate technology solutions

Conducting solution architecture research, PoCs, feasibility assessment and facilitating solution application selections
-
Formulating business and logical data and solution architectures comprised of software, network, hardware and integration designs
-
Conducting impact assessments and mitigation plans
-
Working closely with Enterprise Architects on defining long term architecture vision, integration patterns and review of technical portfolio.

Creating and owning the Solution Architecture documentation

Developing IT Strategy & Roadmap consistent with the overall strategic needs of the business division.
Your qualifications and experience:
-
Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience
-
Extensive experience in data integration and Event/Stream Driven Architecture experience
-
Expert knowledge and experience applying Event/Stream Driven Architecture patterns from design to implementation
-
Implementation expertise in data streaming technologies such as Kafka, Confluent Kafka, Amazon MSK, Amazon Kinesis and/or Cloudera Kafka
-
Hands-on experience in architecting and designing data definitions & topic hierarchies based on industry, domain and platform best practices aligning to Informatics standards.
-
Experience with entire data lifecycle including information architecture, data architecture, data management, data integration, data ingestion, data security, data privacy, data governance, and data analytics
-
Knowledge of Edge processing solutions with low-latency, low-bandwidth and low power utilization scenarios as examples of edge requirements.

Proven track of design experience using AWS services
-
Expertise in multiple technologies domains (e.g. networks, systems, databases, security, etc.)
-
Proven experience of creating architecture designs using a formal architecture framework methodology – TOGAF, Zachman.

Strong leadership skills and experience in managing large groups
-
Demonstrated effective oral, written, public, and interpersonal communication skills
