Job Summary
Are you a specialist in designing high-performance, resilient integration landscapes? We are looking for a Solution Architect with deep-rooted expertise in Azure Integration Services (AIS) to lead the design and governance of our enterprise-scale connectivity solutions.
In this role, you will move beyond simple point-to-point connections to design sophisticated, decoupled architectures. You will be the primary authority on how systems communicate, ensuring that every integration is robust, secure, and built to evolve.
About the Role
As a Solution Architect, you will act as a bridge between complex business requirements and technical excellence. You will take ownership of the integration roadmap, defining the patterns and standards that govern the use of AIS. Your focus will be on architectural integrity: ensuring that solutions are not just functional, but scalable and maintainable for the long term.
What You Will Do
- Architectural Blueprinting: Lead the end-to-end design of integration solutions, utilising the full AIS stack to solve complex business logic and data movement challenges.
- Integration Pattern Leadership: Champion the use of Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) (such as Message Routing, Content-Based Router, and Claim Check) to ensure system resilience.
- API Strategy and Governance: Define and oversee the API Management (APIM) strategy, including policy design, security frameworks (OAuth/OpenID), and developer engagement.
- Messaging and Eventing Design: Architect high-throughput asynchronous systems using Service Bus and Event Grid to ensure loose coupling across the enterprise.
- Legacy Modernisation: Act as the lead advisor for transitioning from legacy middleware (for example: BizTalk, IBM MQ) to modern, native AIS architectures.
- Standardisation: Establish and document best practices, naming conventions, and reusable frameworks to be utilised by the wider delivery teams.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct architectural reviews and deep-dive technical assessments to ensure implementation aligns with the original design and industry standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Translate technical complexity into clear, actionable insights for senior business leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
What You Will Bring
- Extensive Integration Expertise: 10+ years in technical roles, with a minimum of 5+ years specialising in architecting AIS-centric solutions.
- AIS Mastery: Deep, hands-on knowledge of the "Core Four" and their advanced configurations:
- Logic Apps (Standard and Consumption): Workflow orchestration and complex connectors.
- API Management: Gateway configuration, sophisticated policy snippets, and security.
- Service Bus: Advanced queuing, topics, and sessions.
- Event Grid: Event-driven design and reactive programming patterns.
- Conceptual Depth: A thorough understanding of Enterprise Integration Patterns and the ability to apply them to real-world scenarios.
- Data Transformation: Proficiency in Liquid Templates, XSLT, and JSON/XML mapping for complex data translation logic.
- Security and Identity: Expert knowledge of securing integrations via Managed Identities, Azure Key Vault, and private networking.
- Hybrid Connectivity: Experience designing secure communication between on-premises systems and the Azure ecosystem using Data Gateways or Private Links.
- Professional Presence: Proven experience in a consulting or lead architect role, with the ability to influence and guide enterprise-level clients.
