Within the L1 Software Development team in the Product Engineering Group RU Baseband Software, we are dedicated to designing and implementing Physical Layer Baseband functions for our Radio products. Our goal is to maintain Ericsson's leadership in the market by delivering cutting-edge L1 solutions across diverse deployment scenarios, frequency bands, radio platforms and 3GPP/ORAN standards.
We are currently looking for a curious, driven professionals with a passion for innovation to join our outstanding Radio Baseband software team in Kista as Baseband Tester.
Your Role:In this role, you'll engage with cutting-edge technology playing a key role in the testing and integration of functionalities on our various Radio variants for 5G and soon 6G deployments.
What you will do:
- Validate, troubleshoot and integrate new Baseband features in a full end-to-end test environment for Ericsson Radio products.
- Conduct legacy regression testing and feature interaction testing to ensure seamless functionality.
- Work across multiple QA areas, including stability, robustness, resilience, and automation.
- Apply expertise in wireless standards such as 5G and LTE, including their underlying protocols.
- Operate in advanced lab environments to diagnose issues and integrate complex software components.
- Create detailed test plans, document analyses, and share insights with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with engineers across design, systems, and QA for swift and effective problem resolution.
- Drive innovation by staying up-to-date with industry best practices and new technologies.
- Thrive in an agile development setting, delivering both product and test code through our DevOps infrastructure.
You will bring:
- Master's degree in a relevant field, with 2+ years of industry experience in telecom or related areas, preferably focused on feature testing.
- Strong expertise in LTE, NR/5G, and wireless air interfaces, including end-to-end feature testing (e.g., gNodeB and UE integration).
- Excellent knowledge of Moshell and other Ericsson RAN troubleshooting tools.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with QA areas such as stability, robustness, and resilience.
- Knowledge of signaling, and protocol layers, plus RF testing.
- Experience in planning lab setups, designing/executing test plans, analyzing data, and producing high-quality test reports.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
- Working knowledge of UNIX and Windows environments.
- Passion for software development, problem-solving, and sharing technical know-how.
- Skilled in working with international, multi-site teams, encouraging open communication and bringing a can-do attitude.
- Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced, agile setting, keeping up with emerging industry trends and delivering complex solutions on time with quality.
- Proactive in improving quality assurance practices and driving creative solutions.
