Summary Generated by Built In

Software Services helps SEL customers turn their Blueframe investment into working, adopted, and expanding solutions. As a Software Services Project Manager, you will lead customer engagements from the first conversation through deployment, adoption, and expansion. You will bring clarity to complex work, keep the team and the customer aligned, and make sure that what we promise, plan, and deliver stay in sync. You do not need to be the technical expert on the room — you need to be the person who makes it possible for everyone else to do their best work.

We are looking for project managers who lead with communication, organization, and empathy; who can hold a schedule and a difficult conversation at the same time; and who are genuinely curious about the technical work happening around them. We will teach you Blueframe, DTS, and the shape of our engagements. You bring the discipline and the customer instincts.

What to Expect

This is a strategic new team at SEL, and this role sits at the heart of it. Expect visibility, direct customer relationships, meaningful collaboration with engineers and leaders, and the chance to help design how Software Services runs.

  • You'll own the customer relationship on delivery. You'll be the person the customer counts on to know where things stand, what's coming next, and what they need to do to be ready.

  • You'll lead our engagement lifecycle. From kickoff and planning through validation, go-live, and adoption checkpoints, you'll keep the plan honest and the team focused on customer outcomes.

  • You'll partner closely with engineers. You do not need to be a technical architect — you need to be a great teammate to the people who are, and comfortable asking the questions that move the work forward.

  • You'll shape how Software Services works. Templates, playbooks, dashboards, reporting rhythms, KPI reviews, and reusable practices are being built right now, and this role is part of that.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead customer engagements from planning through deployment, validation, adoption, and handoff.
  • Own the engagement's schedule, milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions, and communications.
  • Serve as the customer's primary point of contact for engagement delivery and progress.
  • Facilitate alignment across customer stakeholders — operations, IT/OT, cybersecurity, compliance, engineering, and leadership — without needing to be the technical expert.
  • Coordinate work across Software Services engineers, Engineering Services, Sales, Technical Support, Product Engineering, and R&D.
  • Keep scope clear. When new needs come up, help decide together how to handle them.
  • Maintain the artifacts that make delivery visible: schedules, status updates, risk logs, decisions, and customer-facing summaries.
  • Contribute to reusable engagement patterns — playbooks, templates, dashboards, checklists, and lessons learned — that make the next engagement better.
  • Support KPI tracking and reporting so that leadership, customers, and the team can see how engagements are performing.
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management on expansion conversations and adoption success.
  • Mentor teammates and grow with the team as Software Services grows.
  • Understand. Create. Simplify.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Three or more years of project management, program coordination, or delivery leadership experience.

  • Proven ability to lead schedules, risks, dependencies, and communications for projects with multiple stakeholders.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — comfortable talking with engineers, customers, and executives in the same week.

  • Comfort working across ambiguity and helping teams find clarity.

  • Willingness to learn the technical domain (Blueframe, Software Services practices, utility/industrial operations) at a level that lets you ask good questions and make good decisions.

  • Comfort coordinating technical work without needing to personally perform it.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • PMP, CSM, SAFe, or comparable project or program management training.

  • Experience with software deployment, systems integration, or technical program management.

  • Exposure to utility, industrial, critical infrastructure, or OT-adjacent work.

  • Experience running FATs, SATs, pilots, or structured customer readiness activities.

  • Experience preparing executive summaries, adoption reports, KPI reviews, or business scorecards.

  • Familiarity with tools such as project management platforms, Microsoft 365, or collaboration and reporting tools.

You do not need most of these to apply. Communication, organization, and curiosity carry the most weight.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to translate customer goals into a clear plan the team can execute.

  • Ability to lead people, meetings, and decisions with structure and empathy.

  • Ability to hold a difficult conversation professionally and constructively.

  • Ability to identify and communicate risk before it becomes a problem.

  • Ability to write clearly and concisely — the kind of writing that saves everyone time.
