We are looking for a talented Software Section Lead to support our team in a player/coach role serving as both a first line manager and a key contributor to program execution. You will leverage your extensive technical experience by supporting the full lifecycle of a development program while also managing a group of software engineers. We will provide you with opportunities to learn, leverage our current technologies, incorporate new technologies, and make an impact within the larger engineering team. Job Responsibilities
- Provide first line supervision, mentoring, coaching, career development, and performance management for a small to medium sized team of software engineers.
- Support recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new team members to meet business needs.
- Use your technical skills and experience to ensure the design, implementation, and sustainment of our software solutions to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Be a major technical contributor to the development programs and/or proposals as either an individual contributor, technical lead, or discipline program lead.
- Collaborate with other section leads and discipline leads to ensure program success.
- Conduct one-on-one and section level meetings.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- 8+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
- Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance
- Demonstrated ability to guide individuals through complicated or difficult situations effectively and professionally
- Experience with the full life-cycle of software development including performing software testing, validation, and verification activities
- Experience with software engineering processes, methodologies, and tools
- Experience with proposal development activities, including proposal text development, cost and schedule estimation, and presentation activities
- Prior experience in technical/project team leadership
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field
- Prior experience as a first line manager (i.e. general supervision, performance management, staffing)
- Background in one or more of the following:
- Embedded and/or application software development in one or more: C++, Python, Ada
- Experience with Machine Learning and/or Algorithm development and optimization in C++, CUDA, or Open CL
- Developing Test Automation Software, Common frameworks, and software tests - typically in Python
- Developing Test Support Software for test stands and workstations including Graphical User Interface
- Previous experience with SW applications to Electro-Optical/Infrared technologies
- Experience with Agile SW development methodologies
- Experience with Model Based Engineering
- Experience with GRA, Big Iron, or OMS Architectures
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $149603 - $254317
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
