Kemper is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Specialist to join the group to support work on Guidewire auto insurance applications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on Guidewire project requirements and specifications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for web and mobile applications.
- Identify, report, and track defects using a bug-tracking system (e.g., JIRA).
- Work closely with the development team to replicate, isolate, and troubleshoot issues.
- Verify fixes and perform re-testing of resolved issues.
- Ensure test coverage aligns with Guidewire requirements and provide testing feedback to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and business analysts, to clarify requirements and user stories.
- Maintain detailed test documentation and update as needed throughout the Guidewire project lifecycle.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Provides quality assurance consulting and support colleagues and other business groups.
- Coordinates and leads the development of test strategies, including both manual and automated solutions, for multiple projects.
- Assist in identifying areas for process improvement and contribute to testing best practices.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in manual QA testing, preferably in Guidewire applications.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies (e.g., functional, Integration, regression and exploratory).
- Experience with Guidewire Auto insurance applications.
- Proficiency in creating and executing test cases using X-Ray and Zephyr, and reporting defects using ALM and Jira
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Basic understanding of SQL for database testing is a plus.
- Experience in web and mobile application testing.
- Knowledge of automated testing tools, such as Selenium with Java, and performance testing concepts is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
