Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer / Software Engineer in Test to join the Autodesk Revit Cloud Worksharing team.

Autodesk Revit is world-leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) software used by architects, engineers, and building industry professionals to design everything from homes and businesses to airports, skyscrapers, and major landmarks.

In this role, you will help ensure that the software and cloud services our customers depend on are reliable, usable, and high quality. You will work as part of a collaborative, cross-functional Agile team alongside software developers, quality engineers, product managers, and other engineering partners.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who is interested in both software quality assurance and test automation. You will develop skills across exploratory and functional testing, automated testing, cloud technologies, troubleshooting, and software development practices while contributing directly to the quality of Autodesk Revit and Revit Cloud Worksharing.

You will report to a Software Engineering Manager and work with teammates distributed across multiple regions and time zones. The team collaborates globally, so your working hours should provide meaningful overlap with the US Eastern time zone.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum team activities and contribute to discussions about product quality, test strategy, and release readiness
  • Work with developers, QA engineers, and Software Engineers in Test to understand new features and identify appropriate testing approaches
  • Create clear, well-structured test plans and test cases based on product requirements and real-world customer workflows
  • Perform functional, exploratory, integration, regression, and system testing across desktop and cloud-based components
  • Identify, reproduce, document, and help troubleshoot software defects
  • Learn to use logs, debugging tools, telemetry, and other diagnostic information to help isolate problems and identify potential root causes
  • Develop and maintain automated tests with guidance from more experienced engineers
  • Contribute automated tests to Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines
  • Review automated and manually collected test results and help identify failures, trends, and areas of risk
  • Help evaluate where automation can improve test coverage, reliability, and engineering efficiency
  • Simulate real-world customer workflows and provide feedback to developers and product designers about usability and product quality
  • Collaborate with Product Support and engineering teams to understand customer-reported issues and improve the post-release customer experience
  • Learn Revit, Revit Cloud Worksharing, and related Autodesk workflows and technologies
  • Participate in team and cross-team quality initiatives and share knowledge with teammates
  • Continuously develop your skills in software testing, automation, cloud technologies, and quality engineering practices

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Up to 2 years of professional, internship, co-op, academic, or project experience related to software development, software testing, engineering, or a similar technical discipline
  • Basic understanding of software testing concepts such as test cases, test plans, defect reporting, and debugging
  • Experience with or coursework in at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, C#, JavaScript, Java, or similar
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an interest in investigating how software works and why it fails
  • Ability and willingness to learn new applications, technologies, and development processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse, globally distributed team
  • Curiosity, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering a high-quality customer experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, academic, or professional experience with software quality assurance or automated testing
  • Familiarity with one or more automated testing tools or frameworks
  • Exposure to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment concepts or tools
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms or cloud-based applications such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Experience working in Windows and/or Linux environments
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum software development practices
  • Knowledge of the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit or other Autodesk/AEC software
  • Experience designing buildings, working with BIM models, or using engineering or architecture software
  • Interest in learning both customer-focused quality assurance and software engineering approaches to automated testing
  • Basic experience using AI-assisted development tools to help write, understand, debug, or improve code and automated tests
  • Familiarity with using generative AI tools to assist with tasks such as creating test cases, generating test data, troubleshooting failures, or documenting technical work
  • An interest in learning how AI can be applied responsibly to improve software development, test automation, and quality engineering workflows
You do not need to meet every preferred qualification. We are looking for someone with a strong learning mindset who is excited to develop skills across software quality, test engineering, automation, and emerging AI-assisted development practices
