Software Product Assurance Engineer

Thales Alenia Space Quality Direction is recruiting a Software Assurance Quality Manager for Ground / On Board Software Products/Solutions developed in Roma Site – MAN / WOMAN

Integrating a quality team of around 30 persons, on several sites in Italy and France.

Job Responsibilities:

• Define and perform all Software Quality Assurance and Control activities on a set of softwareproducts under development and/ or maintenance,

• Act as Software Quality Manager, ensure appropriate interfaces toward the System and / or Software engineering teams as well as toward the internal or external Customers and Suppliers,

• Ensure the Customers as well as the Thales Alenia Space Company Direction about the effective application of the Quality Assurance Rules applied on software productsas expressed in the Company Referential and by the Contracts,

• Prepare and attend to reviews and milestones of each allocated software project to guarantee their success and the Customer satisfaction,

• Guarantee the applicable processes are respected and the full conformance of the delivered products,

• Take part to the definition and the experimentation of new software Quality processes and approaches related to Big Data and/or Artificial Intelligence developments

• Providing appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPI) relevant to Quality performance and efficiency

• Support the action plan concerning continuous improvement based on KPIs and lesson learnt management

• Ensuring that Software Suppliers correctly implement the applicable Software Quality roles and requirements

Who are you

• Initial Qualifications : Software, Aerospace or Automotive Engineer

• Awaited Skills :
  • Experience in Software development / testing
  • Experience in Software Quality Assurance
  • Basics of Software Configuration Management
  • Experience in Software for Safety Critical Systems is appreciated
  • Experience in Cyber Security and / or Big Data and / or Artificial Intelligence Software developments would also be appreciated

• Standards :
  • Internationally recognized Standards for Software development and qualification such as DO178C or other Automotive / Aerospace / Railway standards
  • ECSS Space Software Engineering and Quality Standards (ECSS-Q-ST-80C / ECSS-E-ST-40C)

Experience in Software Quality Management tools concerning:

• Knowledge of Requirements handling
• Software coding rules verification and Software metrics computation (through e.g. Logiscope, SonarQube, Coverity, Polyspace, etc.)
• Software Non Conformance Report management tool (example JIRA)
• Software Configuration management tools (example GitLab)

• Interpersonal and Personal Skills:
  • Understanding user needs to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Collaboration with multiple teams: communication, agility, management of complexity
  • Leadership behaviors
  • Rigor, curiosity, innovation
