Sanofi’s Digital Manufacturing & Supply “Solution Engineering & Delivery” organization is responsible for creating and maintaining digital solutions which are used on Sanofi industrial sites to manage manufacturing, quality and administrative processes.

The Web Application Platform team works within this group to create web products which are used daily to help improve manufacturing efficiency and predictability, monitor product quality and track business performance. These web applications are commercial quality products, developed with modern web technologies with the goal of providing differentiating capabilities and user experience above and beyond those provided by standard software designed for industry.

The Software Engineering - Test expert Lead is a pivotal role within the Web Application Platform, responsible for guiding and managing the software engineering team while ensuring projects are delivered with the highest quality and within stipulated timelines. This individual will not only provide technical leadership but will also interface with stakeholders to understand requirements, propose solutions, and ensure the delivery of successful software projects.

About you

You will be a hands on Software Engineering - Test expert Lead for our foundations and maintenance PODs to ensure rapid delivery of the technical roadmap to a high standard.

This team is core to our delivery of reliable web applications, and you will be key to its success.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team to foster a collaborative and innovative environment
• Ensure the technical integrity and quality of the projects are maintained

Project Management

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects on time and within budget
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure project objectives are met and risks are identified and mitigated in a timely manner

Coding and Development

• Lead by example through hands-on coding, code reviews, and best practice implementations
• Ensure the adoption of appropriate technologies and tools to deliver high-quality software

Stakeholder Engagement

• Interface with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their needs
• Communicate effectively regarding project status, technical issues, and solutions

Process Improvement

• Advocate for and implement agile development practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the team
• Assess and improve engineering processes to optimize productivity and quality
• Analyzing new trends on the market and implementing them in Sanofi Web Application Platform

Documentation:

• Ensure proper documentation of code, architectural designs, and project artifacts
• Promote knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization

About you

Experience & knowledge

• Cloud software development in a DevOps environment
• Previously coordinated a small team of developers working on applications in production
• Previously worked in an agile environment
• DevOps automation standards: to develop, establish, and promote DevOps standards and culture with integration in product delivery suites like Jira and Confluence
• A plus would be:
  • Test automation for all levels – Unit, Integration, E2E
  • Containerization of test environment

Technical skills

• Strong software development skills – ideally in Typescript using NestJS and VueJS or ReactJS, but experience with other languages will be considered
• API technologies: GraphQL, REST
• Strong DevOps knowledge
• CICD with infrastructure as code and Git version control
• Experience working within serverless and/or microservice based environments
• Infrastructure knowledge from at least one major cloud provider
• A plus would be:
  • Strong knowledge in testing: BDD, TDD, Test Design Techniques, Mutation Testing, Test Data Management, etc
  • ISTQ certification
