Meet the Team
Cisco Intersight is a cloud-native operations platform that provides unified management, automation, visibility, and lifecycle operations for infrastructure across data center, cloud, and edge environments. Its SaaS, on-premises, and mobile offerings depend on secure, reliable automation that enables engineering teams to build, test, release, and operate software at scale.
We are looking for an experienced CI Build Engineer to join the Intersight CI team and take ownership of build systems, CI pipelines, and developer tools that support a large engineering organization. This role focuses on improving the reliability, scalability, performance, and developer experience of the development pipeline used across Intersight engineering.
Your Impact
In this role, you will improve the systems and workflows that enable Intersight engineers to build, validate, and deliver software efficiently. You will work across build infrastructure, CI automation, developer tooling, and pipeline operations to improve engineering productivity and keep critical delivery systems reliable at scale.
- Design, develop, maintain, and improve build systems, CI pipelines, and developer tools that support Intersight engineering teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across build systems, CI pipelines, test automation, developer tooling, and related infrastructure.
- Improve CI/build reliability, scalability, performance, and operational support across high-volume development workflows.
- Partner with engineering teams to understand build, validation, and developer workflow pain points and turn them into practical pipeline and tooling improvements.
- Lead automation efforts that reduce manual work, improve build and validation consistency, and reduce technical debt across CI systems.
- Support static analysis, unit test automation, code review, artifact management, and validation workflows that are integrated into the development pipeline.
- Administer and improve CI-related tools and services such as Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, Keeper, ElasticSearch, Splunk, and related build infrastructure where applicable.
- Evaluate and adopt new tools, technologies, AI-assisted engineering capabilities, and process improvements that enhance developer productivity and CI system scalability.
- Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, dashboards, and training materials that help engineering teams use CI/build systems effectively.
- Provide India-time support for build systems, CI pipelines, and developer tooling, partnering closely with US-based CI team members to troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, and contribute to core build-system enhancements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors + 8 years of relevant experience.
- Significant software development experience in one or more major programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Extensive hands-on experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting CI pipelines, build systems, developer tooling, or large-scale software delivery automation.
- Strong understanding of modern development practices, including Git-based workflows, code review, continuous integration, automated testing, and artifact management.
- Experience working with Linux environments, including configuration, administration, scripting, troubleshooting, and operational support.
- Experience with CI/build tools and platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory, or similar systems.
- Experience partnering with engineering teams to understand requirements, diagnose pain points, and deliver practical improvements to developer workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues, tradeoffs, and priorities to engineering stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud-native application build and validation workflows.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code or configuration management tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, logging, or reporting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ElasticSearch, Splunk, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting CI/build systems for large-scale distributed systems or large engineering organizations.
- Experience applying AI-assisted tools or agent-based workflows to improve developer productivity, operational support, automation, or troubleshooting.
