The Sr. Software Engineer I is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions that meet business and technical requirements. This role contributes to end-to-end product delivery, collaborates across teams, and ensures high-quality engineering practices across the development lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and debug applications and software components aligned to business requirements
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams to define and refine technical solutions
- Translate business requirements into scalable and efficient technical designs
- Contribute to full lifecycle delivery including design, development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
- Ensure code quality through best practices, documentation, and adherence to standards
- Support operational excellence by deploying, monitoring, and maintaining production systems
- Participate in code reviews and drive continuous improvement in engineering practices
- Contribute to evaluating new tools, frameworks, and technologies to improve efficiency
- Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing within the team
- Take ownership of assigned features/components from development through production support

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of software development experience (aligned to Sr. Engineer I level; inferred from capability band positioning)
- Hands-on experience with modern software development practices (Agile, CI/CD, DevOps exposure)
- Experience with application design, development, testing, and debugging
- Experience working with APIs, microservices, and web-based applications
- Solid proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar)
- Proven solid problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proven effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with observability, monitoring, and logging tools
- Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., healthcare, finance)
- Exposure to domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, or distributed systems
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with modern UI frameworks or full-stack development
