Primary Responsibilities:
  • Stay current with evolving AI capabilities and features and apply them to improve delivery quality and velocity
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack enterprise applications using C#/.NET for backend services and Angular for responsive, user centric front end experiences, ensuring alignment with Optum Technology standards
  • Own end to end delivery across the software development lifecycle, from requirements refinement and technical design through deployment, monitoring, and production support
  • Embed security and quality by design, proactively identifying, remediating, and preventing security vulnerabilities in compliance with Optum and UHG secure coding and risk management practices
  • Build and operate applications across Azure cloud and on premises environments, supporting hybrid deployment models with high availability, scalability, and reliability
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions while meeting regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, mentoring, automation, and continuous improvement, contributing to Optum's culture of innovation, operational excellence, and accountability
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years RESTful Web API Development
  • 8+ years of .NET Framework, .NET Core, .NET development using C#, Entity Frameworks
  • 8+ years responsive web application and UI Development
  • 8+ years of HTML, TypeScript/Javascript (Angular)
  • 5+ years of experiences managing source code with Git, Azure DevOps (TFS), or similar
  • 4+ years creating engineering diagrams including sequence, software, system, and architectural diagrams
  • 3+ years experience in Agile Scrum and/or Kanban teams, story/work breakdowns, story estimation, and multi-sprint planning/road-mapping
  • 4+ years of Test-Driven development and Unit Testing
  • 4+ years working with MS SQL databases and SQL Stored Procedures
  • 4+ years of Azure services development including Azure Security and Identity Management Services (Application Gateway, WAF, Azure AD, API Management, Key Vault), Azure Storage Services (Table storage, Blob Storage, Queues, Azure SQL), Azure App and Cloud Services, Azure Development Services (ARM Temples)
  • 2+ years of event-driven architecture, micro-services software development
  • 2+ years of secure programming techniques and OWASP Top 10
  • 1+ years of Healthcare Domain Experience
  • Proficient in using GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and other AI tools to enhance coding, documentation, data analysis, and decision-making workflow
  • Demonstrated ability to design complete software systems including web, API, Logic, Database tiers and 3rd-party integrations
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within and across teams
  • Proven solid written and verbal communication skills showing an ability to interface with business stakeholders and engineers

Preferred Qualification:
  • Full stack development experience with .NET & C#
  • UI development experience with Angular
  • Additional Languages: SQL, C#
