As an Engineering Lead, you will be a key technical leader and bar raiser for the engineers in the São Paulo engineering hub, using your expertise to guide the team's technical direction and drive the evolution of our global money movement platform.

You will have the chance to significantly influence the technical direction for your domain and team, help build a best-in-class engineering organisation right here in São Paulo, leveraging your experience to mentor and coach engineers, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment within the new hub. You will also collaborate closely with other engineering teams being established in São Paulo, and with global teams in other locations.

  • Actively participate in the recruitment process and make hiring decisions to grow the team.

  • Responsible for the growth of the engineers in the team through feedback and both passive and active coaching.

  • Ensure the teams' composition is balanced and correctly sized with respect to the roadmap.

  • Create a culture of ownership inside the team where every engineer is accountable for their work.

  • Own the technical roadmap of the team, ensuring it addresses important technical debt and any reliability, security or scalability concerns.

  • Active contributors in the delivery of the team. You support day-to-day execution of work

  • Guide the team’s technical approach while actively contributing to designing, developing, testing, and deploying features and services to enable money movement capabilities in existing and new Hispanic American markets..

  • Propose and advocate for high-quality technical designs and solutions that are scalable, reliable, and compliant.

  • Participate in code and design reviews within your team, providing constructive feedback to maintain and elevate our engineering standards.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers in our other global offices, to align on product vision and technical implementation for regional expansion.

  • Stay updated on relevant LatAm market trends, payment systems, and regulatory requirements across the region to inform product development and ensure compliance.

Qualifications

  • A proactive and ambitious mindset, with a desire to take ownership and make a significant impact in expanding into new markets.
  • Proven experience as an Engineering Lead managing people (1+ years), with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, scalable systems and a strong Product mindset.

  • Up to date technical expertise in back-end development and microservices architecture.
