KBR is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer to be a part of the team that supports the Department of the Air Force advanced air platform testing and rapid development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and debug high‑quality software applications with a primary focus on C++.
• Build and maintain modeling and simulation software, ensuring reliability, scalability, and adherence to industry best practices.
• Collaborate on software architecture and design, contributing to the planning and implementation of new features and system enhancements.
• Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code, following established coding standards and development processes.
• Work closely with cross-functional team members in a fast‑paced, agile environment to deliver high‑value capabilities.
• Participate in peer code reviews, offering constructive feedback and supporting continuous improvement across the engineering team.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure stable and reliable system performance.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain applications in a containerized environment.
• Support the creation and execution of test plans, ensuring thorough validation of software functionality and performance.
• Stay current with evolving tools, technologies, and best practices in modern software development.

Work Environment:

• Location: On-site
• Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
• Working Hours: Standard/Flexible (3 days in office)

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelors in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 5 to 7 years of programming experience with C++
• Active DoD Secret clearance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desired:

• Active Top Secret clearance
• Excellent interpersonal and intrateam communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• MBSE experience
• Flight Simulation and/or Aerospace Engineering background
