What will you do?
- Work with product development team of scientists and engineers to collect requirements and craft interactive scientific software solutions.
- Develop tools and applications using the latest browser, server side and database technologies.
- Work with enormous amounts of data – loading, migration, etc. and work on optimizing ETL and CRUD operations
- Build, maintain and implement automated test frameworks and tools using standard methodologies.
- Build and run continuous deployment technologies to enable efficient implementation of developed and improved software.
- Build and implement code documentation to support design, development and maintenance.
How will you get here?
Education
A Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Biology, or equivalent experience crafting and developing interactive scientific or e-commerce web solutions.
Experience
- Experience working on client-server functionality, web browser technology, object oriented and functional programming languages like (and including) JavaScript, Python and Java.
- Experience designing and developing enterprise grade software solutions.
- Proficiency in using AI utilities like GitHub CoPilot and IDEs like Cursor, with the ability to write code independently in a few favored programming languages.
- Very strong experience with client side frameworks like React and Angular.
- Good understanding of Linux systems and cloud platforms like AWS, GCP and Azure, with proficiency in using the command line to perform common tasks.
- Experience with an RDBMS (like Oracle) and working with data formats like XML and JSON.
- Experience working with Java EE technologies including Java, Spring, JDBC, Hibernate and Web services(REST/SOAP/WSDL).
- Experience working with user analytics related technologies like Adobe Experience Platform preferred.
- Experience working with Big Data frameworks like Hadoop a plus.
- Experience with other server-side technologies including PHP, Perl and Ruby a plus.
- Experience with Linux programming or administration a plus.
- Knowledge of Bio Sciences and Genetics a plus.
- Experience with Agile Software Development process a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Excellent communication / documentation skills!
- Strong problem solving, web application debugging and troubleshooting skills a must.
- Must be detail oriented and a self-starter!
- Multi-tasking with good follow through skills, good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well in a team as well as alone to accomplish tasks without supervision.
