We are seeking a Software Engineer to help us develop the entertainment industry's most advanced production finance application. This role requires excellent engineering talent. You will work closely with the product design team to move rapidly from concept to proof-of-concept to execution. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU
- Ability to work with fast-paced development backed by a solid SDLC -- branching, pull requests, CI, and QA.
- A focus on SOLID principles, TDD, best practices, and software craftsmanship.
- Participating in daily stand-ups (including NYC and LA), pair programming, and collaboration.
- An extensive onboarding covering our company, technologies, architecture, and practices.
- Access to continued online learning via platforms like PluralSight.
- Managers who are all former engineers.
- Working with a fully responsive, single-page application (SPA) powered by a RESTful API.
- A tech stack that’s constantly evolving.
- A code analysis tool used to monitor and address the technical debt consistently and accurately.
WHO YOU ARE
- 1+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Brilliance and passion for software craftsmanship.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- A sense of humor and a friendly personality.
- Professionalism and maturity.
- A solid work ethic, tenacity, and enthusiasm for technical challenges.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in C# or Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, relational databases, and ORM frameworks.
- Experience with a commonly used back-end framework (e.g. Rails, Spring, .NET) and a commonly used front-end framework (e.g. React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Unit testing evangelist.
- Well-versed in object-oriented design and development concepts (e.g., SOLID, Onion/Hexagonal architecture, anemic/rich domain model, design patterns, data structures).
- Experience modeling and architecting complicated business domains and associated methodologies/paradigms: i.e., Domain Driven Design, Event Sourcing, CQRS.
- Expertise in distributed architectural patterns: event-driven microservices, distributed transactions: sagas, append-only logs, change data capture, idempotent consumer, eventual consistency.
