Join Maersk’s Platform Engineering team as a Software Engineer for our Service Mesh Platform built on open-source technologies.
In this role, you’ll help design, build, and maintain a scalable, robust service mesh platform using cloud-native tools like Kubernetes, Docker and infrastructure-as-code. Your work will enable product teams across Maersk to integrate and scale their applications efficiently and securely. Key Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer, you’ll help deliver a core platform product that directly supports business-facing product teams. You'll work in a dynamic environment with a strong focus on automation, performance, and reliability.
You will:
- Design, build, test and maintain the Service Mesh Platform with a focus on automation.
- Build and manage cloud deployments across multiple environments using infrastructure-as-code.
- Drive performance, scalability and security through continuous deployment, monitoring, logging and alerting throughout the platform lifecycle.
- Operate the platform by defining health metrics, building remediation steps, and ensuring incident readiness.
- Participate in on-call rotations with product teams and lead efforts to prevent incidents through automation and blameless postmortems.
- Continuously explore and implement new technologies to keep the platform up-to-date.
- Support developers in integrating applications quickly and securely into production using the service mesh platform.
Experience & Skills
- 4–7 years of experience in Software Engineering or DevOps roles.
- Experience in Service Mesh technologies like Istio, Kuma or similar.
- Practical knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and cloud-native development.
- Solid experience in Linux environments.
- Proven track record with cloud platforms (public or private).
- Experience with Go or Python is preferred.
- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Chef, or Puppet.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana etc.
