Software Engineer
Position Summary: Develop and deliver web and mobile applications. Work collaboratively to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable systems.

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Serve as a technical lead contributing to and directing the efforts of development teams.
- Support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and production support for software systems.
- Design and implement of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications based on requirements, and on input from subject matter experts.
- Determine root cause for the most complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.
- Remain current on new technologies and available vendor packages; evaluate and make recommendations as necessary.
- Assist in task planning, estimation, scheduling, and staffing.
- Mentor team members to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities.
- Determine process improvements, best practices, and develop new processes.
Requirements and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field OR 10+ additional years relevant experience in lieu of education.
- 8+ years relevant software development experience.
- Broad experience designing, programming, and implementing large information systems.
- Ability to provide in-depth evaluation and analysis of unique complex technological issues.
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, design patterns, and algorithms.
- Experience with API development; RESTful, JSON-RPC, etc.
- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases.
- Proficient with Linux and shell scripting.
- Must enjoy learning and be self-motivated with the ability to switch contexts as the needs of the business evolve.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to understand others and clearly express thoughts.
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with computer network defense and related cybersecurity practices.
