Requirements

We are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated Software Engineers to join our Singapore-based team, working on an exciting, new, and unannounced AAA project.

This is a generalist engineering role with a strong focus on providing front-line technical support to developers. You will investigate development issues, help unblock teams, apply corrective measures where appropriate, and ensure problems are directed to the relevant system owners when deeper investigation is required.

We are hiring across mid and senior levels, with responsibilities calibrated based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate technical issues reported by developers and perform initial analysis to identify the likely cause.
  • Apply corrective measures where appropriate, including fixing or rolling back broken compilation or build issues.
  • Provide operational guidance to developers to help unblock their work, for example directing them to a stable or usable build.
  • Escalate and route issues or JIRAs to the appropriate system owners when further specialist investigation is required.
  • Work closely with engineers, designers, artists, and other disciplines to support development and maintain a high-quality product.
  • Test, debug, and refine systems and features throughout the development cycle.
  • Estimate own tasks and deliver high-quality code according to agreed schedules.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and development standards.

Requirements:

  • Professional software engineering experience in games or related real-time interactive development.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and C# knowledge.
  • Good familiarity with large C++ game codebases.
  • Experience working with Perforce or similar source-control systems.
  • Experience with commercial game engines such as Unreal Engine and/or Unity.
  • Strong debugging, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable analysing unfamiliar technical issues and helping developers find practical ways to continue working.
  • Comfortable working with distributed teams across different locations and collaborating clearly across disciplines.
  • Experience contributing to at least one shipped game in a professional capacity.

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience in a generalist engineering, developer support, build support, or firefighting role.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard development practices including source control, asset pipelines, issue tracking, external QA, and localisation.
  • Experience with continuous integration and build automation.
  • Exposure to post-launch product development and delivery.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience with art packages and pipeline development.
  • Experience with low-level optimisation, shader programming, physics, or mathematics.
