We are looking for a highly skilled, collaborative, and forward-thinking Senior Software Engineer to join our balanced product team. In this dual-focus role, you will deliver robust Senior Java Full Stack development, leveraging cloud-native microservices, while also driving AI Engineering initiatives, designing and integrating agentic workflows and GenAI models to solve complex business challenges.
You'll work closely with a team of like-minded engineers who use automated CI/CD pipelines to continuously ship clean, secure, and production-ready code. A key part of this role is building strong observability into our systems, including logging, monitoring, and alerting, to ensure performance, reliability, and rapid issue detection across our platforms.
The ideal candidate is passionate about software craftsmanship, building scalable and high-performance applications, and staying current with cutting-edge AI capabilities. You should thrive in a collaborative environment, be committed to writing quality, maintainable code, and be excited to help shape both the technical architecture and intelligent capabilities of our products.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Product Managers, and Architects to design and develop a scalable microservices platform using Java and Spring Boot, adhering strictly to Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
- Design, develop, and implement high-quality, reusable, and testable code that adheres to industry best practices and standards.
- Work closely with the Technical/Solution Architect to decompose complex business requirements into clean, modular microservice architectures.
- Build reusable frameworks and work closely with DevOps to ensure the platform is highly available, scalable, and fault tolerant.
- Actively participate in Test-Driven Development (TDD), CI/CD, and DevOps practices as part of software craftsmanship and Agile XP.
- Automate unit, integration, and performance testing (JUnit, Selenium) and ensure application security through SAST/DAST practices.
- Build strong observability into the platform, including automated performance monitoring, logging, and tracing (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace), to ensure high availability, quick issue detection, and reliable production support.
- Handle operational issues with little or no oversight and participate in rotational, on-call support as required.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to standards, patterns, and architecture principles.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and user guides for the platform.
- Migrate existing PCF/Java based applications to GCP and re-write legacy code (Struts & JSP) to modern frameworks (Spring Boot & Angular).
- Engage in Agile practices including stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint demos, and journey mapping.
- Contribute to AI-driven initiatives, such as integrating GenAI capabilities or agentic workflows, as part of rapid prototyping efforts within the GCP ecosystem.
- B.E. / B.Tech / M.C.A. or a related quantitative degree.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, development, and system support.
- 4+ years of experience with the Spring Platform (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring JDBC, Spring Cloud).
- 4+ years of experience with front-end frameworks (Angular/React) on the Spring Boot platform.
- 4+ years of experience with databases (Oracle/SQL Server/PostgreSQL).
- 3+ years of experience with microservice architectures and REST/SOAP API design.
- 5+ years of experience in Agile environments with a strong focus on software craftsmanship.
- 2+ years of cloud-native development experience on GCP; GCP migration experience preferred.
- Experience with testing automation tools (JUnit, Selenium, etc.).
- Good knowledge of code quality/security tools (SonarQube, Checkmarx, 42Crunch, etc.).
- Experience with GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, and similar CI/CD tools.
- Experience with Generative AI/LLM applications and traditional ML models is a plus.
- Exposure to chatbots and agentic AI is a plus.
