Hybrid – Buffalo, NYMoog is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Test Systems Engineering Team, where you'll develop and deploy automated test solutions used to validate cutting-edge flight control actuation systems.
This role blends software development, electrical engineering, systems integration, and hands-on problem solving, making it an excellent opportunity for engineers who enjoy working at the intersection of hardware and software. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create advanced test systems that ensure the performance, reliability, and safety of critical aerospace products.
As a Software Engineer for our Test Systems Engineering Team, you will:
Develop software for automated aerospace test systems using tools such as LabVIEW, Python, C, and Simulink
Design, integrate, troubleshoot, and validate test equipment used to verify flight control actuation systems
Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Systems Engineers to solve technical challenges and optimize test system performance
Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical decision-making
Support the build and integration of test equipment, working alongside technicians and assembly teams
Serve as a technical liaison between engineering and production to resolve issues and ensure successful system implementation
Develop and execute formal verification testing, analyze results, and drive resolution of issues through completion
Support customer demonstrations, validation efforts, and test correlation activities
Create and maintain technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials
Manage software configuration and version control throughout development and deployment
Deliver customer-ready test systems that meet performance, quality, and compliance requirements
To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll typically bring:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
Experience programming in one or more of the following: LabVIEW, Python, C/C++ and/or Simulink
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts across engineering teams
Self-motivated with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic engineering environment
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with automated test equipment, controls systems, data acquisition, or system integration
Exposure to aerospace, defense, manufacturing, robotics, or industrial automation environments
Experience supporting hardware and software integration efforts

Salary Range Transparency:
Buffalo, NY $80,000.00–$105,000.00 AnnuallySalary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
