WHAT YOU'LL DO:
HiveWatch is in search of a Software Engineer - System Operations. This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager of our System Operations team.
The SysOps team’s focus is to enable other engineering teams to be productive and efficient while ensuring customer environments stay available, reliable, and performant.
The team designs and delivers modern cloud infrastructure, edge compute environments, delivery automation, identity and access management, system continuity and monitoring.
As a SysOps Software Engineer you will:
- Reliably deliver integral platform features to our customers on AWS using Infrastructure as Code
- CI/CD pipelines, and modern service delivery practices
- Increase the resiliency, scalability, and maintainability of our production, test, and development environments
- Participate in the end-to-end lifecycle of software delivery through planning, development, deployment, testing, maintenance & monitoring
- Be required to be on an on-call rotation
TECH STACK:
- Languages: Kotlin, Rust, TypeScript, and Python
- Deployments: GitHub Actions, Terraform, Terragrunt, and Helm
- Infrastructure: AWS (Kinesis, Serverless, RDS, EKS), Kubernetes, Docker, Postgres, IoT Edge
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Expertise with object oriented programming, debugging bespoke software
- Experience in AWS architecture and services
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Terragrunt
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of professional experience working with production environments, maintaining CI/CD pipelines and debugging issues
- Experience working in a professional development workflow, git, issue tracking, and collaboration tools and agile methodologies
- Comfortable working with the Linux command line, bash scripting
- Experience with Relational Databases, SQL, monitoring tools
- Experience with a modern software development language such as Kotlin, Java, C#, Python, Rust
ADDITIONAL INFO:
- Salary range for this position: $120,000 to $140,000 per year
- Hybrid - Job requires to be in office at least three days a week in El Segundo, CA
- Eligible to participate in HiveWatch Equity Incentive Plan
