The Role:
The Senior Software Engineer will work throughout a well-established software development life cycle and perform to architect, create, code, debug, maintain, and validate tools and applications with a required understanding of the needed programming languages and architectures.
Key responsibilities include:
Demonstrate and apply knowledge of the Mexican payment market specific/regulations to ensure that a complex card processing platform is configured and enhanced properly to follow the Mexican market regulations. Work with the Business Analysis team to consult on the required changes.
Support complex cross functional data conversion projects to bring big client data. This support includes application of the Mexican payment specific knowledge.
Develop code using both front and/or back end programming languages within multiple platforms as needed in collaboration with business and technology teams for internal and external client software solutions.
Design, create, and deliver moderately complex program specifications for code development and support on multiple projects/issues with a wide understanding of the application / database to better align interactions and technologies.
Provide broad and in-depth analysis, modification of complex code / fixing problems in the existing applications / perform unit testing of the changes made. Perform and advise on testing, validation requirements, and corrective measures for complex code deficiencies and provide systemic proposals.
Apply understanding and knowledge of procedures, methodology and application standards to include Payment Card Industry (PCI) security compliance.
Requirements:
Educated to degree level in a relevant subject (such as Software Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, B Tech or other technical degree). Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
Experience in an agile/scrum framework;
Knowledge of the industry of payments in Mexico (card payments, international and local Payment Schemes, financial services). Previous work experience in a local Mexican bank / Payment service provider / Payment Scheme is an advantage.
Understanding of the subjects such as data conversion, system performance, data mapping and data conversion strategies.
Good knowledge of SQL, proficiency in Oracle Database Development (e.g. PL/SQL).
Back-end/Front-end technologies - JAVA (with Spring boot) / JavaScript (React).
Oracle Performance Tuning is an advantage.
Intermediate technical skills in UNIX/Linux Operating Systems.
Experience in end-to-end project implementation delivery.
Able to work occasional shift hours to meet conversion and client needs.
Advanced English level.
