As an Software Engineering Senior Manager you will play a crucial role in guiding EBANX's Payment Institution (IP) initiatives within Brazil. This role is responsible for driving the vision of achieving exceptional sustainable performance, focusing especially on our PIX solution, provided by proprietary technology alongside our PSTI tech partner. The role encompasses both strategic leadership and hands-on involvement in the development, scaling, and optimization of our IP/banking systems.
You will also be responsible for:

  • Lead the company’s payment performance and scalability strategies for the IP;
  • Sponsor and nurture the ongoing initiatives to improve and scale our Brazilian Payment Institution performance;
  • Guide the technical architecture related to the IP operation to ensure optimal performance and scalability;
  • Prioritize and integrate advanced transactional processing features and observability capabilities;
  • Create and maintain an end-to-end monitoring system for timely detection, diagnosis, and resolution of performance issues;
  • Streamline and automate operational flows, ensuring minimal manual intervention;
  • Lead and mentor a dynamic team of software engineers, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including product, business, and other technical teams, to align on performance goals and benchmarks;
  • Adopt an iterative approach to performance, emphasizing continuous benchmarking and improvement;
  • Ensure an understanding of individual merchant perspectives on performance and regularly compare against peer groups;
  • Oversee and collaborate with a combined team of internal members and external consulting teams;
  • Ensure optimal allocation of resources for the achievement of performance and scalability goals;

Main requirements for this position:

  • Experience in software engineering, and as a leader of leaders, with deep expertise in project leadership, legacy code improvement, data-intensive applications, scalable systems, monitoring and alerting, and automated tests;
  • Literacy in the Brazilian IP ecosystem, including knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards;
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, ensuring optimal scalability and resilience;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to various stakeholders;
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.

  • Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, operations, and business development;
  • History of actively participating in or leading R&D initiatives, showcasing a forward-thinking approach to technology and its applications;
  • Eagerness to continuously learn, adapt, and apply emerging technologies or methodologies.
