StockX's Platform Engineering team has built a world-class foundation on which all StockX Engineering depends. As a member of the Platform Engineering team, you will build, maintain, and improve this platform, working with Engineering Teams, IT, and Security to discover, design, and implement new technologies and solutions.
The Platform Engineering team’s mission is to build and operate foundational components that enable engineering teams to rapidly deliver robust, production-ready services. You will be building tools that empower all engineers (including the PE team) to run operationally excellent services. This is a unique role where you will also have the opportunity to work on the infrastructure vertical as well.
We use cutting-edge tools and services like Gloo, EKS, LaunchDarkly, Terraform, Datadog, and a plethora of AWS services to build resilient and scalable platforms that accommodate our rapid growth. As a software engineer on the team, you will be empowered to take ownership of technology decisions and solutions while playing a pivotal role in establishing a successful engineering culture at a fast-growing company. Decision-making ownership and clear OKRs will ensure success in this role.

Position: Based in Bangalore, with a hybrid in-office/WFH arrangement
What you’ll do
- Research and implement cutting edge technology that can be applied to handle massive scale and collaborate with engineers throughout StockX to ensure we are using standard methodologies to build scalable, secure, and operationally sound systems.
- Take responsibility for the performance and uptime of the services owned by the team by collecting metrics, participating in on-call rotations, monitoring production systems, debugging issues as they come up, and responding with a sense of urgency.
- Work on projects and implementations around DevOps, SRE, Cloud Architecture etc.
- Help define the way engineers at StockX contribute to a robust, cohesive, low-latency API.
- Work autonomously and within loosely defined requirements.
- Work with other engineering teams to identify needs, improvements, and opportunities.
- Build tooling to allow teams to automate routine cloud deployment, administration, and monitoring tasks.
- Mentor other software engineers to help bolster overall team competency.
- Work with engineers to build standard local/non-production environments for systems across the organization to enable expedited development and testing.
About you
- Overall, 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong experience with one or more languages used by the team (Typescript/JavaScript/Node.js, GoLang) or equivalent experience in another language and a willingness to learn.
- Extensive implementation experience of various AWS services (EKS, RDS, EC2, S3, IAM, CloudTrail, AWS Organizations, Elasticache etc.)
- Excellent working knowledge on Kubernetes, docker, helm.
- Experience in developing and operating CI and CD pipelines (using Harness, Circle-CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GHAS, Helm, etc.) to automate the delivery of working code to production.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, preferably terraform.
- Experience in managing any RDS Database from database and query optimizations perspective.
- You have built highly resilient and scalable services.
- Possess a strong understanding of what makes a system scalable and how to avoid future bottlenecks.

- Experience problem solving and tackling problems with a creative mindset, creating recommendations and action plans for solving those problems.
- Working experience on tools like GitHub Actions, Karpenter would be an added advantage
- A good understanding of the StockX type model and our categories.
