Software Engineer (Manpower Pooling)

Location Requirement: This is a Philippines-based position. We are currently building a talent pool of qualified Software Engineers who are Filipino residents currently residing in the Philippines for future hiring opportunities.

Essential Responsibilities
1. Software Development & Application Engineering
•    Design, develop, and maintain software applications based on defined business and technical requirements.
•    Translate product requirements and technical specifications into functional and scalable software solutions.
•    Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code following established development standards.
•    Develop new features, enhancements, integrations, and technical solutions across assigned applications and platforms.
•    Participate in system design and technical architecture discussions.
•    Ensure software solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and fit for purpose.
2. Application Integration & Technical Development
•    Develop and maintain APIs, services, databases, and integrations required to support applications.
•    Integrate third-party systems, services, and technologies as required.
•    Collaborate with AI Engineers and other technical teams to integrate AI capabilities into software applications where applicable.
•    Evaluate technical approaches and recommend appropriate solutions based on business requirements, scalability, maintainability, and cost.
•    Support application configuration, deployment, and release activities.
3. Quality, Testing & Reliability
•    Conduct unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and technical validation of software solutions.
•    Collaborate with Test Engineers and QA resources to identify, investigate, and resolve defects.
•    Analyze production issues and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
•    Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with coding, security, and development standards.
•    Monitor application performance and identify opportunities for optimization and improvement.
•    Support the resolution of critical production issues within agreed timelines.
4. Software Development Lifecycle & Delivery
•    Participate in requirements analysis, sprint planning, development, testing, deployment, and post-release activities.
•    Provide accurate estimates and communicate development progress, risks, dependencies, and potential delays.
•    Maintain appropriate technical documentation for applications, components, integrations, and implementation decisions.
•    Follow established version-control, branching, deployment, and release-management practices.
•    Contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes and engineering standards.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Innovation
•    Partner with Product, AI, QA, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technology solutions.
•    Provide technical recommendations and identify opportunities to improve application functionality and user experience.
•    Participate in cross-functional strategic initiatives and special projects.
•    Support the development of internal products, tools, automation solutions, and technical capabilities that may subsequently be offered to third-party clients.
•    Evaluate emerging technologies and development practices and recommend relevant improvements.
•    Leverage automation and AI tools to improve development productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in software development or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages and relevant software development frameworks.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, software architecture, databases, APIs, and version control.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and third-party services.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD, containerization, or DevOps practices is an advantage.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Strong understanding of software testing, debugging, security, and performance optimization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver within agreed timelines.
• Experience working in a technology, pharmaceutical/biopharma, or high-growth organization is an advantage.
• Process oriented.
• Ability to leverage automation and AI to improve software development and engineering efficiency.
