Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, and Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) Advanced Programs Group has an exciting career opportunity for a Software Engineer – Level 2 or 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. We are working on an autonomous distributed tracking system - Join our high performing software team as the primary systems engineer and come make history with us!  This job is in Boulder, CO – Boulder is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and only 25 miles from downtown Denver. Due to the nature of our work, full-time in-person work is required.

Position Overview:

As a Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, documentation, testing, deployment, and debugging of software applications. This includes researching, identifying, and implementing solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary software problems. It also includes close collaboration with fellow software engineers, algorithms developers, hardware engineers, systems engineers, program managers and technical leadership.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

This requisition may be filled at either a Software Engineer – Level 2 or a Principal Software Engineer – Level 3.

Basic Qualifications (Software Engineer – Level 2 or 3):

  • Software Engineer Level 2: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 0-2 years of related work experience.
  • Principal Software Engineer Level 3: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related work experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM and 3 years of related work experience, or a PhD. and 1 year of related work experience.
  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Containerization tool experience (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker products, Podman, etc)
  • Configuration Management Tools (Git etc.)
  • CI/CD experience (Jenkins etc.)
  • Agile development exposure
  • C++ templating

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
