OverviewResponsibilitiesWorking within the execute / delivery phase of TNS’ Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to develop software which meets or exceeds the company’s quality and performance standards including the preparation and maintenance of system documentation. You will function collaboratively as part of a professional technology team engaged in the structured and timely delivery of technology solutions.
A Software Developer at TNS is expected to pursue self-improvement, innovation and the adoption of best practice to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of the team. This role will also have a strong interface with the TNS Global Architecture Function with a view to drive Software Architecture design decisions related to overall system structure and behavior. As well as helping stakeholders understand and analyze how the system will achieve essential qualities such as modifiability, availability, and security.
QualificationsResponsibilities:
Essential responsibilities include:
· Assisting with analysis, problem-solving, development and delivery of maintainable and efficient software solution elements across TNS’ business capabilities.
· Develop software which meets or exceeds TNS’ quality and performance standards.
· Function collaboratively as a member of a professional technology team engaged in the structured and timely delivery of technology solutions.
· Pursue self-improvement, innovation and the adoption of best practice to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of the team.
· Develop and execute test plans that thoroughly test applications and allow for quality implementation of applications.
· Prepare and maintain documentation of applications and systems.
· Communicate status, issues and risks with leaders in a timely manner.
· Deliver outcomes that fit within the design direction and architectural boundaries provided by the design team.
Experience / Qualifications:
· Experience developing Java and J2EE applications.
· Experience developing for Payment solutions or transaction processing highly desired.
· Advanced experience developing with Spring & Hibernate based Java applications and libraries.
· Advanced knowledge of distributed system APIs including SOAP/REST services & clients.
· Strong experience developing with JavaScript, ideally including experience with JQuery, AngularJS, Angular, React and TypeScript.
· Can work independently and/or in a team.
· Demonstrated experience creating work item estimates.
· Ability to independently manage time, working towards and meeting agreed deadlines.
· Experience preparing and maintaining documentation of applications and systems.
Optional Desired Qualifications:
· Experience working within a Scrum team and understand the various Scrum roles.
· Experience writing User Stories and acceptance criteria.
· Experience with Atlassian suite of products such as Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo and Confluence.
· Experience with test-driven development using JUnit and Selenium.
· Experience with design documentation.
· Advanced knowledge of: PostgreSQL, ActiveMQ, JMS, Spring Security, Quartz, Camel, CXF and JSON libraries.
· Experience with Maven, Gradle or Ant for building applications and maintaining dependencies.
· Experience in using JSPs, GWT, Spring MVC and Web Services.
· Good understanding of HTML, PHP, AJAX and CSS.
· Familiarity with basic AWS concepts and services including EC2, S3, CloudWatch, CloudFormation and Lambda
· Experience with automation tools such as ansible, docker, Kubernetes, chef, puppet
· Experience with Linux operating environments
Education / Certifications:
· Computer science degree or equivalent work experience within a professional software environment.
· Payment industry experience highly desired
