What are we looking for?
We are looking for recent bootcamp graduates or Junior/Senior college students to join our team! As a software engineering intern at BetterHelp, you’ll join a diverse team of licensed clinicians, engineers, product pros, creatives, marketers, and business leaders who share a passion for expanding access to therapy. What will you do?

You will work with our senior-level engineers and collaborate with our product and data teams through the entire software development lifecycle. From building, testing, and deploying to monitoring and tracking code changes and their impacts, you will be a part of it all. We're looking for individuals with a passion for writing code who want to learn technologies that they may be unfamiliar with and hone their skills in those they already know.
- Work with a nimble passionate team; collaborating with development and support
- Develop features under the supervision of an experienced developer
- Collaborate on software documentation (reading, writing, and updating)
- Debug and test code (manual and automated testing)
- Write code to perform A/B tests
- Write and analyze SQL queries
- Learn to think about solving problems with high-scalability in mind
What will you NOT do?
- You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
- You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
- You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people are allowed here!
- You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining a sustainable work/life balance. Really.
Can I work remotely?
Yes. We operate on PST and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply. We ask employees to travel to our Mountain View, CA office up to three times per year plus one company-wide offsite to collaborate in person and strengthen working relationships. Travel expenses are covered and reasonable accommodations are made for those under unique circumstances who cannot travel.
Requirements
- 1+ years of combined experience in web development (any stack); solving challenging problems and implementing new features from scratch.
- Experience working or internship experience in startups is a plus.
- Experience using git in a team environment is a plus.
- 1+ significant full stack web development projects that you have worked on independently (Not for a class)

The hourly rate for this position is $25 - $30 per hour.
