Description
The Software Engineer III supports the NSWC Crane Model-Based Engineering Assessment Division (Code MXM) on the MXM EMSO effort, executing assigned Technical Instructions under Government technical direction in support of the RDT&E, mission engineering, modeling and simulation, and Fleet-support tasking defined in the SOW/PWS. The position requires 10 years of professional experience with software engineering. The Software Engineer III performs assigned work in accordance with Team quality, configuration-management, and security requirements.

Additional Desired Experience
· 10+ years experience with software engineering.
· TS/SCI eligibility preferred.
· Experience with applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting.
· Experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.
· Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.
Requirements
· Master’s degree in a quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems)
· 10 years of professional experience with software engineering.
· Active DoD SECRET security clearance (or interim) required and must be maintained.
· Required work location: NSWCCR / Contractor Facility.
Skills Required
- Master's degree in a quantitative field such as engineering, mathematics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or information systems
- 10 years of professional software engineering experience
- Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance, or interim Secret clearance, maintained throughout employment
- Ability to work at NSWCCR / Contractor Facility
- Experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting
- Experience with modern software development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, or DevSecOps
- Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification
- Eligibility for a TS/SCI security clearance
