The Modernization Team at Appian is dedicated to pioneering the future of development. We seek innovative engineers who are language-agnostic and committed to enhancing efficiency. In this role, you will concentrate on creating robust tooling, refining build systems, and leading AI-assisted development workflows. Based in our Chennai tech hub, you will play a crucial role in shaping the modern engineering ecosystem that propels Appian's global platform forward.
Qualifications & SkillsEducationDegree: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related technical field.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of professional software engineering experience.
Core Coding Ability: Strong foundational programming and software design skills. We embrace a language-agnostic approach for this role—if you can write clean, logical, and efficient code, any primary language stack is welcome.
Tooling & Build Systems: Demonstrated experience in developing, maintaining, or optimizing internal engineering tooling, build infrastructure, or developer workflows.
CI/CD & Automation: Practical experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines and automating deployment or testing workflows.
AI-Assisted Development: Experience in utilizing modern AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, LLM-based coding assistants) to accelerate development, refactor code, and optimize engineering tasks.
