Job Description:
You will be part of the Software development team in Hyderabad, India, working on our Ethernet switch and Ethernet Phy portfolio. We are an integral part of Microchip and work closely together with our design sites, mainly in the US, Denmark and India. The job will consist of
- Understanding the functionality and specifications of the Microchip Ethernet switch and Phy products and their application in customer systems.
- Developing device drivers, tools for Ethernet phy and for Ethernet switches.
- Creating documentation (user guides, configuration guides and other technical documentation).
- Assisting customers with system-level design and resolving issues
- Working with Marketing to identify industry trends to aid in new product development, as well as creating demos for and supporting trade shows.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer/Electronics/Electrical Engineering with minimum of 5 years of software development experience
- Programming skills in C/C++, python
- Linux Device drivers, BSP, RTOS, QNX
- Ethernet Phy and Switches knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) standards and generalized Precision Time Protocol (gPTP) are a plus.
- Comfortable with PC hardware, FPGA setup and testing
- Ability to understand board-level schematics, board bring up, debug hardware issues if necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with multiple projects and deadlines
- Are a team player but able to work independently - a self-starter, adaptable to rapidly changing market requirements
