The Role

C.H Robinson is seeking a Software Engineer II on our Intelligent Automation team where you will collaborate with our data science teams to build automation processes for web automation, API integrations, natural language processing, etc. The primary focus will be on choosing optimal solutions to use for these purposes; then maintaining, implementing, and monitoring them. In this role you will also be responsible for integrating them with the architecture used across the company. This role will focus on intelligent decision-making automation processes that empower people to move freight faster, cheaper, and better, through participation in automating freight related tasks and interactions with customers and carriers.

This position is open to candidates located in Minneapolis, Chicago, or Kansas City. In this role, you will engage with your peers from the comfort of your own space, using cutting-edge tools to ignite creativity and deliver impactful results. Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

• Partner with product managers and senior software engineers to translate requirements into detailed designs

• Partner with data scientists and data analysts to drive performance improvements for our applications

• Proactively troubleshoot applications and identify performance and availability issues providing effective options for resolution

• Tune performance and resolve availability issues of product or service and its dependencies

• Increase code quality through writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests

• Collaborate with other software engineers and teams on code reviews, development infrastructure, and process enhancements

• Grow, push the boundaries and learn new things to apply to our team's work

• Write clean, maintainable Python and JS (React) code

• Apply LLMs and Generative AI tooling

• Participate in AGILE/SCRUM process

• Work directly on a product suite that drives significant revenue and cost-savings to the company bottom line

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience collaborating in a team environment shipping software

• Proficient creating applications and features in object-oriented and functional programming environments

• Working experience with database objects in relational databases (ex. MS SQL, Oracle, Postgres) and non-relational databases (ex. MongoDB)

• Proficient with GIT for version control

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and a high school diploma/GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure developing containerized applications (Docker)

• Exposure to statistics and machine learning concepts

• Experience with automation and/or human computer-interaction (HCI) principles & design

• Experience with LLMs and Generative AI tooling

• Experience with monitoring tools (ex.DataDog)

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation Range

$88,500.00 - $147,400.00
