The Software Engineer II contributes to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software applications supporting the Batch Portal platform. This role operates within an Agile development environment and applies established engineering practices to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with business and product requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.
Design, implement, and maintain batch processing components, scheduled jobs, and plugin‑based extensions aligned to product roadmaps.
Translate moderately complex product requirements into software designs and working code in collaboration with other engineers.
Apply development best practices including unit testing, code reviews, documentation, and code quality standards.
Complete moderately complex bug fixes and resolve technical issues through analysis and debugging.
Operate in an Agile development environment while collaborating with product management, quality engineering, and operations stakeholders.
Keep current with relevant technologies, tools, and architectural patterns related to batch processing, data pipelines, and extensible systems.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of product delivery and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience developing production‑quality software using one or more general‑purpose programming languages (e.g., Java or similar).
Working knowledge of object‑oriented design principles, data structures, and the software development lifecycle.
Experience with unit testing frameworks, source control systems (e.g., Git), and continuous integration practices.
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively within a development team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with batch processing frameworks, job scheduling systems, or workflow orchestration platforms.
Familiarity with Pentaho plugin architectures.
Experience working with enterprise‑scale or cloud‑based systems.
Exposure to data processing, data pipelines, or high‑volume transactional systems.
U.S. National Base Pay Range: $71,600 - $119,400. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates. This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
