About the Role
Feature Development & Delivery
- Design, build, test, and ship production features using C#/.NET (Core/8+) with moderate autonomy
- Own features end-to-end, working with product and design teams to clarify requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Break down assigned work into well-scoped tasks and provide reliable estimates
- Deliver high-quality code that adheres to established architectural patterns and coding standards
Code Quality & Testing
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code using xUnit/NUnit frameworks
- Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and learning from peer reviews
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage and maintain code quality standards aligned with SOLID principles
Production Support & Reliability
- Debug and resolve production issues within your service area with confidence and speed
- Contribute to system reliability and performance optimization
- Participate in on-call rotations as needed to support production stability
Team Growth & Collaboration
- Informally mentor Software Engineer I team members, sharing knowledge and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development practices and tooling
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of professional software development experience, primarily in C#/.NET
- Strong understanding of OOP principles, SOLID design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
- Proven ability to own features end-to-end with moderate guidance
- Proficiency with ASP.NET Core (Web API/MVC)
- Experience with Entity Framework Core or Dapper for data access
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
- Proficiency with Git version control and automated testing frameworks
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services and microservices architecture
- Understanding of REST API design patterns
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to break down complex problems into manageable tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in an enterprise-scale microservices environment
- Exposure to event-driven architecture or messaging systems (e.g., Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Familiarity with observability tools and practices (logging, monitoring, distributed tracing)
- Prior experience mentoring junior engineers in a professional setting
- Background in mortgage, financial services, or another regulated industry
- Willingness to mentor and support junior engineers with a proactive approach to learning and professional growth
