Summary Generated by Built In

We are looking for a skilled and curious mid-level Python Developer with hands-on experience in AI / Generative AI technologies to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for engineers who can independently build production-grade backend systems while actively working with LLMs, AI APIs, and modern GenAI tooling.

You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, contributing to backend services and data pipelines while actively exploring how Generative AI capabilities can be integrated into real products. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys learning quickly, writing clean code, and working at the intersection of traditional software engineering and emerging AI technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Python (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, or Django)

  • Build and integrate features powered by Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, or similar)

  • Design and implement prompt engineering strategies, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and agentic workflows

  • Work with vector databases and embeddings (e.g., pgvector, FAISS, Pinecone, or similar) to power search and retrieval use cases

  • Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, and participate in regular code reviews

  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, and senior engineers to translate requirements into technical solutions

  • Own data processing, automation scripts, and integration pipelines end-to-end

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle within an Agile environment

  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive performance and reliability improvements

  • Stay curious and proactively evaluate and adopt new AI/GenAI tools, frameworks, and best practices

  • Document technical work clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field

  • 2.5+ years of professional experience in software development, with Python as a primary language

  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms

  • Proven experience designing and building RESTful APIs (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, or Django)

  • Hands-on experience working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face, or similar) in production or side projects

  • Practical experience with prompt engineering, embeddings, and RAG-based architecture

  • Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts

  • Experience writing automated unit tests and ensuring code quality

  • Strong experience with Git and collaborative version control workflows

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira

  • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
