As a Software Engineer II - Python Developer + AWS at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Bank Markets Technology - Currencies Emerging Markets Team, you'll serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job Responsibilities

  • Work on in-house python-based technology platforms from which data will be produced and consumed, as well as a variety of AWS/ Cloud technologies, namely: s3, Kinesis, MongoDb, Glue, Redshift.
  • Work directly with line of business developers to gather requirements, understand business context, and translate this into a set of work items for delivery.
  • Build partnerships with stakeholders to understand and identify critical data, performance metrics, cost, and relevance to their business strategy to drive product adoption.
  • Participate in a rapid-release environment and fast-moving team located across India, Singapore, London, and New York.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on experience of Python programming and compute optimisation experience.
  • Practical cloud native experience
  • Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices.
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals and work with senior stakeholders.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn quickly on the job.
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills.

  • Experience working in the FICC technology space
  • Prior SecDB/Athena/Quartz experience.
  • Cloud Certifications.
