We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join Nike's Cloud Platform Engineering team. You will help build, automate, and support Linux-based infrastructure and platform services that power Nike's cloud ecosystem.
The ideal candidate has strong Linux administration skills, experience with automation and scripting, and proficiency in at least one programming language. You are passionate about solving operational challenges, improving reliability, and driving engineering excellence through automation.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ONAdminister, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux environments.
Develop automation solutions using Bash/Shell scripting and programming languages such as Python or Go.
Support platform reliability, patching, security, and system lifecycle management.
Build and enhance infrastructure automation using Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency and platform capabilities.
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support cloud-based infrastructure and services across AWS and other cloud platforms.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
2-4 years of experience in Software Engineering, Linux Systems Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with Linux administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, or similar distributions).
Strong Bash/Shell scripting skills for automation and operational tasks.
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python (Preferred) , Go, Java, or Ruby.
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
Knowledge of Linux security, performance tuning, networking, and troubleshooting.
Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
You will be part of Nike's Global Technology organisation within Cloud Platform Engineering and work closely with Software Engineers, Platform Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, Security teams, Product Managers, and Solution Architects to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure solutions.
