We are seeking a Software Engineer I to join our team. This is a remote opportunity based in Costa Rica.
Job Summary
As a Software Engineer I, you will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that power our core applications. The Imprivata Privileged Access Security (PAS) offers a highly available and performant connectivity framework that uses SSH (secure shell) to create a connectivity platform for remote support. Our product is mission-critical to our customers, and our success depends on our ability to evolve our product to satisfy new customers while improving stability and maintaining security and quality. This role will work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps to deliver robust APIs and data systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Improving product quality and performance.
- Designing, building, and maintaining user-facing solutions, APIs, services, and systems to fulfill user's needs.
- Working with engineers and contributors across the company to build new features.
- Improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes, including writing and maintaining technical documentation.
- Participate in the code and design review process for assigned projects.
- Maintain technical proficiency with the project's toolchain, and stay abreast of relevant industry trends and developments
- Other duties as assigned and required.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience in computer science or software engineering, or some relevant experience in systems engineering as it relates to testing, reliability, security, and observability.
- Familiarity with developing, maintaining, and supporting complex applications.
- Experience working with teams collocated in remote offices.
- Ability to excel in small-group work environments with team-related goals.
- Coding skills in Java or C#.
- Team player mentality to share your knowledge with others.
