Software Engineer I

As a Software Engineer I here at Honeywell, you will develop and maintain software solutions, working on cutting-edge projects that transform businesses. Your expertise will shape the future of technology and industry solutions. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Duluth, GA location on a Hybrid work schedule. 

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using programming language using Python, C#  
• Build and deploy AI-enabled, cloud-native applications 
• Integrate AI/ML models and Generative AI services (e.g., OpenAI API, Cognitive Services) into enterprise applications Develop and optimize LLM-based applications, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems. 
• Develop microservices architectures and enable AI-powered workflows across distributed systems  
• Build and manage data pipelines to support AI model inference and retrieval (e.g., RAG patterns)  
• Implement prompt engineering techniques and orchestrate LLM-based applications  
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability, including AI workloads  
• Troubleshoot production issues, including AI system behavior and model integration issues  

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE 

• Minimum of 0-1 year of software engineering, AI/ML, research, internship, or equivalent project experience
• Minimum of 0-1 year demonstrated experience/intern on AI-powered systems, (Claude, Gemini, OpenAI, Cognitive Services, or similar AI platforms)  
• Minimum of 0-1 year experience in Python, C#, .NET Core / ASP.NET Web API  
• Minimum of 0-1 year experience building RESTful APIs and microservices  
• Minimum of 0-1 year experience with SQL Server / NoSQL databases  
• Minimum of 0-1 year experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) 

WE VALUE 

• Bachelor’s degree or master’s in engineering or a related technical discipline  
• Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns  
• Work with PostgreSQL, pgvector, and Vector Databases to support AI-driven applications 
• Basic knowledge of ML concepts (NLP, Vector DB, model evaluation) 
• Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systems  
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
