Job Description
The Team
Our team (Hirer Acquisition) is responsible for Core hirer journeys like Registration, Onboarding, Accounts/Users management, and supporting internal teams who consume our domain services.
We play a pivotal role in Company level OKRs like growing new hirers segment in all markets we operate.
We have adopted a breadth of Technolgies like React/Typescript, GraphQL for front end development, and Node.js/Typescript to build APIs/Services, AWS as our infrastructure platform and Practices like Agile, CI/CD, Automated testing, Micro services to build amazing products.
You will work with roles, including, but not limited to:
- Graduate Software Engineers, Associate Software Engineers, Software Engineers, Senior Software Engineers, Staff Engineers and Lead Engineers
- Engineering Managers
- Product Managers
- Data Engineers & Platform Engineers of multiple levels
- Business Analysts / Iteration Managers of multiple levels
- UX, Visual Designers, Data Analysts and Digital Analysts (SEO)
About the role
A Software Engineer is an intermediate member of our SEEK Group Engineering teams. Software Engineers are responsible for building technical solutions, maintaining, and improving the health of technology, contributing to the overall productivity of their team and customer outcomes.
You will develop software within product delivery/systems/platform teams, contributing to engineering quality, and demonstrate passion for your craft through user centric, reliable, and scalable solutions.

Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
The following are key responsibilities that the position will be accountable for on a day-to-day basis.
Build
- Work with other engineers to build, test, deploy and maintain software from development through to production
- Contribute to platform health, ensuring that our systems are, reliable, resilient, and efficient
- Contribute to the development of software, employing current software engineering best practices that are fit for purpose
- Work effectively within the team and contribute to existing DevOps environments
- Build software in alignment with existing frameworks and SEEK’s technology strategy
- Troubleshoots and respond to production incidents through to resolution
- Develop Cloud first software (Mobile apps if applicable)
Execute
- Consistently write clean, well-tested, readable software, using secure coding practices, current patterns and tooling
- Collaborate within your team to deliver excellent software
- Contribute to Agile delivery rituals and practices
- Build software, applying secure coding practises in all development
- Communicate with others in a timely manner, effectively and with empathy
- Contribute to a DevOps culture through effective collaboration and regular reflection
- Understand your customers and consider their needs in all development
Support
- Take responsibility for your personal well-being, safety, work-life balance and support the well-being of other team members
- Contribute to the onboarding of new hires as required
- Comfortable with articulating different opinions with a peer/team
