Job Title: Software Engineer - Energy Optimisation & Sales Solutions

Location: (including hybrid): Melbourne, Australia (2-3 days in our WeWork Office)

Salary: $110,000 - $135,000 + superannuation

From revolutionising billing to smart electric vehicle charging, our real-time cloud platforms transform supplier operations, reducing cost to serve and boosting engagement. And most importantly, they enable suppliers' customers to drive decarbonisation with smart, low carbon technologies.

Kaluza is currently in an exciting growth phase, undergoing the next phase of our international expansion in Melbourne to further reinforce our capabilities as a globally distributed energy platform.

Our goal is to build a self-sufficient and empowered team here on the ground in Australia. We’re well on our way, but until we get there we still have some reliances on our UK team. Being comfortable working flexibly for a portion of your working week to cover time zones is required. 

Where in the world of Kaluza will I be working? 

You'll be joining the Kaluza Technology community. We’re a large team of both data-led and product focused Software and Production Engineers, pushing the boundaries of technology and working at an extraordinary scale. As a collective we strive for engineering greatness and by ensuring best practices across the board of the community

Is this the job for me?

Ideally you’ll have/be

• Strong experience developing backend applications in TypeScript
• An eye for creating rich user experiences with Angular and Material design guidelines
• Experience creating data visualisations with d3 or similar libraries
• Agile development experience with a focus on continuous development and integration
• Experience with design and optimization of services using DynamoDB
• Familiarity with database design and optimization with SQL (PostgreSQL)
• Understanding of event-driven systems and message queues
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (ideally within AWS) and serverless architectures is a plus
• Experience designing and documenting internal and client facing APIs
• A passion for building high-quality software with a strong customer focus
• A proactive and problem-solving mindset, thriving in ambiguity
• A strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively and sharing knowledge
• Knowledge or experience with financial markets is a bonus, but not required
